More than a curve

When I was first told I would need to wear a brace, I thought, “Okay, I can do that.”
But the day I actually got it, I started to understand that scoliosis isn’t just a small curve in your spine. It’s so much more than that.
There’s the physical discomfort, but also the mental side that nobody really sees. The stares. The people who don’t understand what scoliosis is. The questions that keep going through your head: Will my curve ever improve? Will this ever be over?
What I’d say to someone else
But one thing I’ve learned is that we’re not alone. We have each other. We can support one another through the difficult days, celebrate the good ones, and remind each other to keep going. We’ve got this!
